Getting ready for Erika to pass us with rain 9/2/09

Well, it's that time of year again when at 10 till the hour, we watch the weather channel for storm updates. As I type, Mexico is going threw their own issues with a hurrican that is fastly approaching them and now we have a tropical depression that seems to be wanting to make it's way over us (named Erika).

Of course it's still too early to tell what and when the rain will start because it's another 2 days out but we are going to get out our storm shutters from the storage unit just to be safe. I suspect that it will be a rainy and windy weekend while it passes over us on it's way over Puerto Rico and on to Florida but it's best to be prepared anyway. I am glad that Dennis is off on Friday and Saturday this week too.

Our marina has closed down today for patrons to run their spider lines and anchor their boats. No traffic will go in or out, just time to prepare. I am glad that we have our boat up in a rack, out of the water at this time and we don't have to run lines or worry about it. I am looking forward to more rain to cool things off.
