We have no shortage of holiday parties and this new year eve won't be the exception. The big bash that is planned for the island is at Yacht Haven Grande where the legenary Bunny Wailer will be performing on stage at 9pm for most of the island (seems like everyone is going to the big party!).
Yacht Haven throws down a great time and since the property is so big and the stage is set on the waterfront next to the yachts, it's the perfect place to enjoy great music and the shopping (Gucci, Prada, Louis Vittan) while sipping your champage. The yacht owers have the perfect view of the stage too.
We have been having some nasty wet and windy weather all day yesterday and into this morning so hopefully it will hold for all the party goers. I can already hear the girls who are planning to wear nice dresses, getting their hair done and sporting high heeled shoes, wondering if their outfits will be ok to wear. Let's hope so! We girls like to look cute!
Did you know that Bunny is not just a singer but songwriter and percussionist too? He was an orginial member of the reggae group, The Wailers along with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh (he quit the band because he didn't want to tour outside of Jamaica and started his solo career). People widely regard him as a musical legend. I know the islands love him here and we welcome him back home to St. Thomas. He resides in Kingston Jamaica but also on a farm here in St. Thomas (the interior part of the island called Jamaica). I heard through the coconut grapevine that he and his band had to be flown here on a private plane because the seaplanes were not flying yesterday due to volcanic ash over Puerto Rico.
Bunny (along with Beverley Kelso) as the only surviving members of the original Wailers according to the offical Bob Marley website. Bunny has won the Grammy award for Best Reggae Album in 1990, 1994 and 1996! WOW!
