Crazy prices this week on St. Thomas!

It's a very good thing that our island is only 13 miles long, with no freeways to deal with (we never really get over 30 miles per hour and one strip of the island you have a little straight-away and can get to 40 mph for about 10 seconds). I am glad that my gym and the stores that I shop at are close by my house and if not, I save up all my arrends to run all in one day to save time and gas money. I say this because our gas prices are crazy these days!!!!!! I checked the gas prices in Ca. just now, and we are paying about 50 cents more! ouch! Must be that dang Sunshine tax I use to talk about in California has followed me here.

It's ironic because we have a gas refinery for the gas near by, in St. Croix, BUT it first goes to Puerto Rico to get taxed, then comes to us via ship. If you live in St. Croix, your prices are much, much better but if you live here, watch out, it can be $75 to fill your tank!.

Even though we don't have far to drive, we do have hills and curvy roads to deal with.  We also replace our tires about once a year as well and go thru sets of brakes each year from all the hills, not kidding!!!!!!!! I am glad that I drive an SUV when it rains and for the potholes we deal with. The hot sun and rain takes a big toll on our roads here.

It's a good thing I only have 1 car but I wish they could do something about the high gas prices. I guess I should be happy it's not $4 like it was last year.
