We have seen this new master planned Caribbean community being built for a few years now it seems, but today we decided since The Raphune Vistas was having an open house, we would actually go and take a look for ourselves. From the road, you can see the very colorful units on the hillside and there is a long dirt road that takes you to the top where the models are. When we lived in the states, this was one of our favorite things to do on the weekends to look for paint colors and new ways to decorate our home, but today it was just pure curiousity on what they looked like inside and how big they were.

It seemed that there were about 25 units or so up and built and there were 3 models to look at today since they were still doing construction projects on the rest of them in the row. There were also about 25 more unit (shells and foundations) that were just poured up the hill. They had a nice entrance, taxi area and driveway leading into the complex. And as a little added bonus (that new homeowners will surely need) is they sit right next to our large Home Depot!

I didn't know that there will eventually be 178 units in total with a pool and club house and 3 parks! It sits on 40 acres and it seemed pretty big to me too. They have a nice overlook of the middle of the island and you can see the top of St. John in the distance too. One of the models had a huge round picture window in a loft on the second floor that I really loved.

I was happy to hear that the builders of these units are focusing on energy efficiency in these homes, using ecologically safer materials (yeah!), trying to reduced waste, and use recycled materials for an overall more positive environmental impact. This seems like a great start and much needed here on the island too.

The houses on the island never look the same, aren't build with the same builders and come in all shaped and sizes (and super funky colors too) so to see houses in a row in a master planned community is very odd but also a welcome site to new homeowners. These homes have first time home buyer incentives that I am sure many people will take advantage of.
