Coral Bay, St. John 3/01/10

Milling along the side of the road, these St. John donkeys don't have a care in the world.

And the winner of the Saint John's, 8 Tuff Miles race is Thomas Chorny, age 33 out of Bloomington IN. He won the race in 46 minutes and 26 seconds and that is a new record, beating out last years winner's (a local from Saint John mind you) record time of 49.35. Jeremy Zuber was not at the race this year, locals said, so I am sure he will be ready to go next year to try and beat his old time and the new record this year.

We took the car ferry over to St. John yesterday and drove to the Coral Bay area of the island where the race took place and it seemed that you couldn't even drive it uphill in 46 minutes!

When you go to St. John's Coral Bay side, it's like a whole other world (in a good way). There is no hussle and bustle and the people who live on that side, wouldn't have it any other way. With a stop at the Jolly Dog and Skinny leg's for lunch and the day at Salt Pond, it turned out to be a very nice day. Maho had big swells coming in and no beach so we were forced to explore and find a new beach we hadn't gone to before. I love adventurous day like that. Of course, a day in St. John wouldn't be complete without seeing a hurd of goats and a few donkeys on the side of the road milling along either. They probably walk the 8 Tuff miles every day!
